Smoothies are my go-to morning beverage/meal. I was such an ice cream/milkshake fiend as a kid so this is the healthiest way for me to indulge and feel like a kid again. There is nothing like enjoying a delicious sweet frozen beverage while getting key vitamins and nutrients.
I guarantee this will make it a lot easier to drop the morning expensive Starbucks coffee addiction. You'll have more nutrition, more energy, feel fuller, and save money. Save the coffee and tea for where it is free at work or cheaper at home.
I rotate between seven different types of smoothies, one for each day of the week. Each feature a serving's worth of greens. No better way to hide some nutrition than in a delicious shake. Here are the recipes.
For each of the recipes, put all the ingredients in a high powered blender (like a Vitamix) and blend until smooth or use one of the NutriBullet smoothie blenders with the built in cups. It makes cleanup a lot easier.
Also, note that the amount of frozen ingredients matter. You want no more than half the volume to be frozen otherwise it will make blending challenging. One tip is to add the ingredients to a microwave safe cup, then microwave for 20-30 seconds. It will take the frozen edge off the ingredients and them blend a lot easier.
